(FORT COLLINS, CO – February 2, 2017) - New Belgium Brewing has awarded national top honors to Skyland Distributing of Asheville, NC, RMC Distributing Co. of Colorado Springs, CO, and N.H. Scheppers of Jefferson City, MO as part of their 2016 Distributor of the Year Award. The award recognizes distributor partners who have gone above and beyond in the areas of market plan execution, new beer launches, and quality assurance. In addition to top honors, regional winners include: Odom Pacific Northwest (WA/ID), Fun Beverage Inc. (MT), Andrews North Texas (TX), and I.H. Caffey Distributing Co. (NC).

“We had a solid year in 2016, selling 958,000 barrels to finish up 4.8% for the year in a hyper-competitive landscape,” said New Belgium Vice President of Sales, Michael Corrigan, “and much of the credit goes to the strength and execution of our distributor partners. Many distributors rallied strong throughout the year, but top honors go to Skyland, RMC, and N.H. Scheppers – as they were the best of the best in a strong field. Big congratulations and thanks to these organizations for their continued hard work.”

A points system broke out distributors into two tiers based on volume. Three winners from each tier were chosen with top honors going to the highest score. New Belgium Area Sales Managers and Sales Directors totaled points and compared notes for the final outcome.
