Mybeerbuzz.com Highlights Indeed Brewing B-Side Pils

imageToday we get an early (and exciting) taste of a new brew coming from Indeed Brewing in Minneapolis, MN.  This is their new B-Side Pils, and if you’re not familiar with this beer, you soon will be.  B-Side Pils will become part of Indeed Brewing’s core line-up AND it will go year round in 12oz cans in late Feb.

This beer was created by brewmaster Dan Stavig to be Indeed’s version of a classic German pilsner.  B-Side uses traditional German pilsner malts and a blend of Noble hops (Hallertau, Mittelfruh & Mandarina Bavaria) as well as natural carbonation.  So how does it taste?

B-Side Pils pours a bright straw color with some really nice biscuit and floral aromas.  We found a slightly spicy and slightly citrusy aroma that we really liked and a combination that really made us want to taste it.  The beer leads with bready flavors that are nicely balanced with some herbal, floral and spicy hops.  B-Side Pils finishes cleanly with a citrusy and drinkable dry bite followed by a pleasant lingering bitter orange aftertaste.  All in all this is a really drinkable beer and I can see why it has become an Indeed Brewing staff favorite.

Before we get any further, we should mention just how cool the artwork looks on the can.  Designed by Minnesota artist Chuck U; it’s hard to go wrong with a headphone-wearing, suit-wearing sloth spinning some vinyl.  B-Side Pils swings in at an easy drinking 5.1%-AbV and a slightly hoppy 35 IBU…and the beer is packaged in 12oz cans making it perfect for camping or sitting on the beach.  B-Side Pils is an instant classic so be sure to get out there and try this beer for yourself…and when you do, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
