Torn Label Brewing Launching 6-Pack Cans in Jan 2017

Torn Label Brewing Company is excited to announce the launch of 6-packs cans of its

year-round flagship ales. “Typically when breweries release information about a

major new phase like this, that announcement boils down to: ‘Cans are coming,’ ”

says co-owner and CEO Rafi Chaudry. “We are especially thrilled because in our case

the announcement is: ‘Cans are here!’

Canning operations are already underway at Torn Label, and three brands are

scheduled to launch into distribution the first week of 2017. The brewery is packaging

its trio of core brands in 12oz cans: Alpha Pale, House Brew, and Monk & Honey. “It’s

a huge step but this has been a natural progression - as Alpha, House and Monk

found devoted and passionate fans in the KC area and beyond, we constantly had

people who wanted to know when they would be able to stock their home refrigerator

with them,” says Chaudry.

Torn Label will utilize a brand new automated two-head canning system purchased

from industry leader Wild Goose Canning. With the brewery’s proprietary filler in

place, canning operations are expected to more than double the production output of

its 15-barrel brewhouse, which primarily produces draft beer currently, heading into

2017. “Our current packaging program - 22oz bottles - focuses on small batch, limited

release beers,” indicates co-owner and Brewmaster Travis Moore. “Our canning

operation will be about bringing our core lineup to consumers consistently, ideally

without gaps in their availability.”

Can designs were provided by Torn Label’s branding and creative partner, Blacktop

Creative. Blacktop has worked closely with Torn Label since before its opening to

develop the brewery’s branding, and the cans are informed by the same

unapologetically raw and rough aesthetic, with each of the three brands possessing a

striking and unique look while still feeling part of the same family.

Torn Label 6-packs will be available for purchase throughout Kansas City, in both

Missouri and Kansas, as well as select locations in Lawrence, Wichita, and KC

suburbs. Torn Label Brewing Company launched in early 2015, founded by Chaudry,

Moore, Chad Troutwine and Carol Troutwine, and will celebrate its second anniversary

in January, with a can release party January 7th other special events at its downtown

KC tasting room to be announced.
