Surf Brewery Releasing Oil Piers Porter

imageFrom Surf:

The seasonal set of our Oil Piers Porter is rolling in, just in time for the fall months.  Named after a now extinct surf break between Santa Barbara and Ventura, we are excited to offer a Gingerbread Spiced Porter using spice from local fellow Ventura business, Spice-Topia.  Ride the wave of spices, earthiness, and a rich full body that will carry you from the break to the beach through the winter months. Alcohol by Volume 6.5% ? Bitterness (IBU) 30 ? Color SRM 35

I remember going to Oil Piers beach as a kid in high school growing up in Ventura and then coming back and visiting my parents in 1998 when the piers were removed.  The surf break was completely gone.  We named this beer in remembrance to the spot and of course the dark beer relating to the color of oil.  We brew several versions throughout the year and this one incorporates a blend of spices put together from our friends at Spice-Topia.  A very enjoyable beer!’ remarks Head Dude Bill.

Now available in draft and in bottles throughout California.
