Fort Collins Releasing New Sled God Winter Warmer 10/24

imageWe brought you the first peek at this beer back in April, and now this from Fort Collins:

Fort Collins, CO – Paying tribute to the triumphant snow day, Fort Collins Brewery (FCB) will release Sled God, a fearless Brown Ale, on Monday October 24th. The brewery’s new winter warmer will be a great alternative to other fall seasonals.  “With so many great spiced and pumpkin beers in the marketplace, we decided to go an oakier, maltier route,” said FCB Owner and General Manager Tina Peters. “Sled God has a delicate brown sugar backbone that will pair wonderfully with cold weather recipes or after a long day on the slopes!”

The 6.8% winter warmer is brewed with hazelnut coffee and is aged on American Oak.  “We use cold brew coffee as well as oak spirals to get a nice smoky, wood component out of the beer,” said FCB Lead Brewer Taylor Krantz. Malt driven with a touch of bitterness from Magnum hops, Sled God finishes delectably smooth with irresistible undertones of oak, vanilla and chocolate.

With the release of Sled God comes the opportunity to help warm those in need.  Starting on November 1, FCB will be hosting a 4 month coat drive to benefit One Warm Coat, a national non-profit that works to provide a free, warm coat to any person in need. “For more than 20 years we have been working to provide a warm coat to anyone who needs one, said One Warm Coat President and Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Stockard. “We are so thankful for our many coat drive ambassadors, like Fort Collins Brewery, who volunteer their time, resources and energy to help their neighbors in need. Together, we can reach our goal of warming one million people each winter, one community at a time!”

FCB will be taking coat donations at 1020 E. Lincoln Ave. in Fort Collins starting November 1 through end of February. Those that do not have coats or live outside the participating coat drive areas are encouraged to visit
www.onewarmcoat.org/donate.

Sled God will be available on draft at the Modern Tavern at Fort Collins Brewery on Thursday, October 24th. Participating liquor stores, restaurants and bars can expect to find the brew on draft and in 6-packs in the coming weeks.
