DENVER (Sept. 7, 2016) – Football is back and Bud Light, the official beer sponsor of the National Football League, is kicking off the 2016 season by celebrating Denver Broncos fans who cheered their team to a Super Bowl victory earlier this year. This Thursday, September 8, Bud Light is giving the first 50,000 Broncos fans of legal drinking age in Colorado a free beer redeemable through the Ibotta mobile shopping app.

“Bud Light is all about celebrating sports fans, & this year, we’ve given our limited edition NFL team cans a bold new look and are rolling out experiences in stadiums across the country to make game day even better for fans,” said Mark Goldman, senior brand director, Bud Light. “The NFL game day experience isn’t complete without a Bud Light in hand, which is why we’re kicking off the 2016 season by giving fans of the Super Bowl champs a cold one on us.”

Additionally, Bud Light is planning to celebrate Broncos fans all season long with the team’s custom Bud Light cans and in-stadium features only to be experienced in Denver. This season’s 12-oz. team can features an iconic design that blends Bud Light’s bold and contemporary look with the team’s orange and blue color scheme and Denver Broncos mark.

Also new for 2016, Sports Authority Field at Mile High has produced two Bud Light rooftop lounges on the structure’s fifth level, open free of charge to all fans. The expanded lounge-like settings are complete with TVs, phone chargers, great views and food and drink for purchase. Social media savvy fans can enjoy the Bud Light x Broncos Twitter Vending Machine on the main concourse, which releases Bud Light branded prizes when consumers tweet a photo of their team can to it. They can also download the Orange Herd mobile app to gain access to new, interactive features like an augmented reality experience with the Bud Light Broncos team can.

“The Broncos are proud to partner with Bud Light to continue delivering fan experiences no other NFL team can offer,” Broncos Senior VP of Business Development Mac Freeman said. “As we get set to open the NFL season on Thursday, we are thrilled to share that moment with Bud Light and the greatest fans in the NFL.”

Starting at midnight on Thursday, Broncos fans in Colorado can visit DenverBroncos.com/ibotta or download the Ibotta app to redeem one of three Bud Light offers, allowing them to enjoy a complimentary beer at local bars, restaurants, retailers and at select vendors inside Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

“Ibotta is thrilled to partner with Bud Light & the Broncos to celebrate the kickoff of football season in our hometown,” said Bryan Leach, CEO of Ibotta. “As a Denver-based company, we’re excited to give Broncos fans across the state the chance to raise a glass and give cheers to the champs.”
