You will soon be able to lift Braxton Brewing Company’s Robust Porter — Blown Gasket — to life. The Covington-based brewery is launching their second seasonal can beginning in October.
“Following the success of Oktober Fuel is no easy task, but our team couldn’t be more excited to share Blown Gasket in cans with you in a few short weeks,” said Jake Rouse, Co-Founder & CEO of Braxton Brewing Co. “This Robust Porter is the perfect accompaniment for the fall and winter months, as well as, the holiday season. Making it more portable in cans was truly important for us. I look forward to seeing where the cans are shared throughout the season.”
The 6-pack 12 oz. cans will be available at select retailers and liquor stores across the brewing company’s distribution network in Northern Kentucky, Cincinnati, Lexington, and Louisville.
Blown Gasket Robust Porter was the first seasonal beer that Braxton ever brewed going back to their opening in March of 2015. Since then, the beer has been one of the brewery’s most popular seasonal offerings. This Robust Porter is a darker offering with a moderately strong malt character. Notes of toffee and chocolate persist. The beer won a Bronze Medal at the 2015 Alltech Commonwealth Cup.
“Launching a seasonal has always been an exciting time for the team at Braxton. Having the ability to do so in a can makes it that much more meaningful,” said Evan Rouse, Braxton Brewing Company Co-Founder and Head Brewer. “This beer, which started as a homebrew recipe from our innovation brewers, means a lot to our team. We’re excited for it to be ready just in time for you to enjoy during the cold holiday months at all your friends and family gatherings.”
Braxton Brewing Company will release cans in their taproom on Tuesday, October 4th. Fittingly, Blown Gasket, which started as a homebrew recipe, will be tapped on the same day that homebrewing was legalized in 1978 — October 14th.

Helping bring this brand to life, Braxton Brewing Co. has worked with Durham Brand & Co. to create Blown Gasket’s seasonal brand and can design.
“This can was a fun one! With the Seasonal system in place from Oktober Fuel, there weren’t preexisting elements for Blown Gasket and we were able to build the brand out of the garage for a heavy impact,” said Austin Dunbar, Durham Brand & Co. Founder. “Braxton and the team we’re all excited about the can direction from the beginning and we all couldn’t wait to have it in hand. Using the can silver against the midnight blue and gunmetal colors, gave the brand more attitude and made the Blown Gasket badge shine like a fresh new part out of a gasket kit.”
