Smuttynose Announces Alabama Distribution

In a move linking two states that each have their own history-laden shoals, Smuttynose Brewing Company, New Hampshire’s leading independent craft brewery, is entering the growing Alabama beer market through an state-wide distribution arrangement with Birmingham-based International Wine and Craft Beer, Alabama’s leading craft beer distributor. Select Smuttynose beers are already in the market with more to come following the launch events (see below). Initial shipments include brewery-aged vintage beers and limited releases from Smutty’s revolutionary Beer Vault system. Smuttynose beers are brewed from their LEED Gold-certified headquarters in coastal Hampton, NH.

“Working with International is a smart choice for us,” said Michael Saklad, Smuttynose’s National-Sales Director, “The team at International know their markets & they’re really skilled at managing inventory, which is such a crucial skill in today’s beer market. We’re very excited to work with the team in Birmingham.”

International Wines & Craft Beer is a family-owned wholesale beverage distributor based in Birmingham, Alabama and servicing the entire state. Since 1974, we have provided our retail and restaurant customers with the best fine wine and craft beer selections available.

“Smuttynose is a pioneer in the craft industry & their passion and spirit of creativity are exactly what we look for in a partner,” said Drew Jones, International’s Craft Beer Specialist, “Everyone at International is excited and honored to represent this brand and we can’t wait to get it into beer drinkers’ hands!”

Smuttynose and International have coordinated a series of launch events around the state. Check them out! Founder and craft brewing pioneer Peter Egelston will be leading a crew of Smutty’s finest to meet, greet and drink beer. Come out and say hello.
