MINNEAPOLIS, MN, JULY 12, 2016: Indeed is thrilled to announce that the first bottled beer from Wooden Soul, its series of funky, wild, and sour barrel-aged beers, is ready to be released. Wooden Soul: Heliotropic, a Belgian-style Brett Saison ale aged in white wine barrels, will be available in 750 mL bottles beginning the week of July 25th.
“As Indeed approaches our 4-year anniversary this August, our first Wooden Soul bottle release serves as a testament to how far we have come as a brewery,” says Tom Whisenand, Co-owner & Director of Operations at Indeed. “Our Wooden Soul beers involve an enormous amount of time, resources, and attention to produce and the results speak to our dedication to making the best and most exciting beers we can.”
The first release from Wooden Soul, Heliotropic began as a Derailed Series: Saison. Brewed with Dupont yeast, then finished with Brux III and Brettanomyces Claussinii, the beer is a blend between the three yeast strains.Residing in white wine barrels, the brett has taken up a healthy residency in the barrels. Expect aromas of tropical fruit, grape, and earthy funk. This beer is dry, tart, and well balanced, with moderate to high carbonation.
The first bottles will be released at the official Heliotropic Bottle Release event at Indeed’s main taproom on Monday July 25th from 6-8pm. This special event includes: a full pour of Heliotropic, plus a flight of Heliotropic with peaches, Heliotropic with pluots, and dry-hopped Heliotropic; a paired flight of hand-selected meats and cheeses provided by Chowgirls Killer Catering; Wooden Soul Head Brewer Adam Theis on hand to talk about the beer and the barrel-aging program; and exclusive access to a bottle of Heliotropic signed by Adam (limit one). Tickets are $50 inclusive of tax and gratuity and can be purchased in person during taproom business hours, or online atwww.indeedbrewing.com/gear.
The remaining bottles will be available for sale on a limited basis from the brewery beginning Thursday July 28th.
