Braxton Brewing Company has announced three new beers and final details for Saturday’s Summer Block Party. The party, which begins at noon in the MadLot, will be a celebration of summer traditions: grilling out, drinking beer, listening live music, and spending time with the community.

To celebrate the occasion, the brewery has brewed three new beers to be tapped during the party. At noon, Bellow Smoked Hefeweizen, Wobble Lavender Saison, and Summer Storm – the brewery’s golden cream ale infused with cucumber, lime, and mint – will all become available.

“We are really looking forward to this lineup of beers,” said Evan Rouse, Co-Founder and Head Brewer of Braxton Brewing Company. “We have always discussed using smoked malt in a hefeweizen for an additional layer of complexity, and the lavender in the saison makes for a perfect twist on the summer classic.”

In addition to three new beers of their own, the brewery will also be tapping beers throughout the event from Alltech, Bad Tom Smith, Blank Slate, Cellar Dweller, Country Boy, Ei8ht Ball, MadTree, Mash Cult, Moerlein, Mt. Carmel, New Belgium, Quaff Bros., Rhinegeist, Rivertown, The Bruery, and Upland. A full lineup and scheduled can be viewed here.

The Summer Block Party will also double as a Big Green Eggfest. Eight teams of two will be vying for the ultimate prize, a Big Green Egg, and bragging rights. Lehr’s Prime Market has provided baby back ribs for the teams to prepare for a panel of judges who will crown the winner. During the event, each team will also be preparing bratwursts infused with Dead Blow from Cincy Beer Brats,  chicken wings from The Oak Tavern, and sliders from Flipdaddy’s Burgers & Beers for attendees to sample. Colonel De will be spicing up the event with a custom spice station for teams and guests to visit.

“It’s going to be 80 and sunny, the teams have been sharing some of their ideas for grilling and I can’t wait to Lift One ot Life this weekend!” Said Jake Rouse Co-founder and CEO of Braxton Brewing Company. “I can’t think of a better way to kick off Father’s Day and Cincinnati Craft Beer Week.”

Big Green Egg will also be at the party with their events trailer. The iconic grilling company will be preparing pizzas from Molly Malone’s and giving away merchandise for select attendees. At noon, there will be a free shrimp scampi class and at 3pm a baby back rib class. The classes are free to attend and will end with an open Q&A.

Finally, no block party is complete without live music. Braxton’s summer edition of their block party is no different. At 1pm, Don Fields & The Nashville Cats will kick things off. The band will be followed at 4pm by Pete Dressman and The SUN. At 7pm, winners from the Big Green Egg competition will be announced. This announcement will be followed by Honey & Houston who will conclude the live music. DJ JK and DJ Beale will provide the vibes between acts.

The free event will take place in the MadLot directly west of the Covington-based brewery’s taproom. The taproom will be open normal business hours with the outdoor event taking place from Noon – 10:30pm.
