Crooked Stave Announces Nov Bottle Releases

imageFrom Crooked Stave:

Denver, Colo. – October 30, 2015 – Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project will host two months of bottle releases starting with an overdue release party for L’Brett d’Cherry on Wednesday, November 4th. The following week, Crooked Stave will release Motif on Wednesday, November 11th and additionally another release slated for November 18th. All bottle releases will take place at the Crooked Stave taproom (3350 Brighton Blvd) at 5:00 p.m. MST.

“After a solid summer of releases we’ve got some of our most exciting beers of the year still to announce,” said Chad Yakobson, Crooked Stave Owner and Brewmaster. “Colorado had a great growing year for fruit with a bumper crop on the Western Slope. We are fortunate enough to work with some amazing growers and finally after the past 4 and a half years, really able to show what we are all about. With enough sour beer aging in barrels and a bounty of Foeders we are able to expand production and release into the market fruit sours we are really proud of.”

L’Brett d’Cherry was originally released in small quantities during GABF week, now for the first time the brewery will have a proper release party for their first fruited sour release of the year. L’Brett d’Cherry is a blend of Golden Sour beer from various barrels, which was additionally aged with 4,000lbs of fruit in the breweries large oak foeders. L’Brett d’Cherry (6.0% ABV) pours with a deep red hue and rose-colored head from the mass amount of cherries added in secondary fermentation.

In addition, Crooked Stave will release Motif on Wednesday, November 11th. This marks the first release in 2015 of Motif, one of the breweries many specialty releases. Motif is a take on a Belgian Dark Strong (9.0% ABV) fermented with the breweries mixed culture of wild yeast and bacteria in large oak Foeders. Brewed in anticipation of colder weather, each batch features strong malt derived characteristics, which mingle with the earthy tart cherry notes derived from the fermentation with wild yeast in oak. Additional batches of Motif Reserva, aged in various spirit barrels are still planned for this year.

On November 18th Crooked Stave will have a release party for Mama Bear’s Sour Cherry Pie, which was also was released during GABF week before selling out quickly.

Mama Bear’s Sour Cherry Pie features over 3,000lbs of Colorado sour cherries harvested by the brewery on the Colorado Western Slope. “This year we had a nice mix of brewers harvesting cherries early in the morning so we could take the fresh fruit back to the brewery and add it to the beer all in the same day,” explains Danny Oberle, Head Brewer at Crooked Stave.

Breckenridge - Nitro Series NVP (Nitro Vanilla Porter) 16oz Cans

image
Today you get to a new Nitro Series beer coming from Breckenridge Brewery.  This is NVP or Nitro Vanilla Porter and it is a nitrogen-charged vanilla porter.  This is a 16oz can and the beer will hit 5.4%-AbV.  Stay tuned for release details.  We also have what looks like a 14.9oz &15.2oz cans.

image

Breckenridge Brewery will introduce an all-new line of portable & versatile nitrogen-carbonated beer in the first quarter of 2016.  The 16-oz can presents the ability to experience silky, smooth nitrogen-charged beer outside of the pub, even taking that experience to the great outdoors. This can promotes “nitro on the go,” for although a glass displays the cascading effects of the nitrogen head, with Breckenridge’s can design the glass is optional.  The Nitro Series from Breckenridge Brewery can be enjoyed anywhere – in a glass or right from the can.
Breckenridge will launch its Nitro Series in 4-packs starting with Nitro Vanilla Porter (NVP) and Nitro Lucky U IPA, available year-round where Breckenridge beer is sold.  “Vanilla Porter and Lucky U were logical choices for rolling out this ground-breaking release for us,” shares Todd Usry, Brewery Director.  “We’ve built a fan base for both of these beers in recent years with nitrogen-infused draft releases.  It’s time to put this beer on the shelves.” Later in the year, the brewery will begin rolling out a seasonal program in the nitro can package. The first release will be the fall seasonal expected to roll out mid-August.
The Nitro Series 4-pack is an important new addition to the brewery’s portfolio. George O’Neill, Director of Sales, explains, “We are capitalizing on strengths with the release of Nitro Series, offering our consumers another way to enjoy our bestselling beer, Vanilla Porter and a new way to enjoy craft’s bestselling style, IPA. The portability that our nitro can offers really opens the number of occasions in which the beer can be consumed. Those who enjoy the nitro experience no longer have to remain tied to the bar stool or pint glass.”
“These beers are dangerously drinkable,” adds Usry.  “Nitro beers offer a different palate experience.  Nitro Vanilla Porter has mellow, delicate vanilla flavor with a rich, porter base.  Nitro Lucky U IPA has lots of interesting hop character without the hop bitterness – that bitterness has been replaced by a creamy mouthfeel.” The small, uniform bubbles produced by nitrogen also create a longer-lasting head. “There’s just something mesmerizing about watching a good nitrogen pour.  You can drink this beer with your eyes,” concludes Usry.
Breckenridge Brewery built a new home in Littleton, Colorado, and moved primary production there this summer.  Its new canning line will increase the brewery’s canning speed nearly 800%. This translates to larger volumes of its 12-oz can offerings, including its sampler pack, and the ability to hit the market with nitrogen-charged 16-oz cans.
