Anheuser-Busch Delivering More than 200,000 Cans of Water to South Carolina Due to Floods

COLUMBIA, S.C. (October 8, 2015) — Anheuser-Busch has provided 8,624 cases of emergency drinking water — or 206,976 cans — for use by South Carolina residents affected by flooding.

Four trucks loaded with water were sent from the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Cartersville, Georgia to assist residents of Columbia, Charleston and Myrtle Beach, and military families at Fort Jackson. Local Anheuser-Busch distributors KW Associates, Southern Eagle and Better Brands are working with the American Red Cross and other local agencies to distribute the water to those in need.

“People in South Carolina affected by floods are in need of fresh drinking water, and this is one way Anheuser-Busch and our local wholesalers can help,” said Sarah Schilling, Brewmaster, Anheuser-Busch Cartersville brewery. “When a disaster like this strikes, we have a responsibility to support our neighbors.”

Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has donated approximately 74 million cans of emergency drinking water following natural and other disasters.

Helping communities cope with disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to the Red Cross for victims of the San Francisco earthquake. Today, in addition to providing monetary support as a member of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program, Anheuser-Busch packages emergency drinking water and works with the Red Cross and other emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need.
