Karl Strauss Brewing Company’s Mosaic Session Ale Is Back and Available Year Round

From Karl Strauss:

Due to overwhelming demand, San Diego’s craft beer pioneer, Karl Strauss Brewing Company, is thrilled to announce the reintroduction and year round availability of its award-winning Mosaic Session Ale, a surprisingly sessionable single-hop beer.

First brewed in 2013 as part of Karl Strauss Brewing Company’s innovative small batch program, this fan favorite was a limited release in 2014 when it went on an impressive medal run. In fact, just last month, the beer won gold in the 2015 Los Angeles International Commercial Beer Competition.

“Our Mosaic Session Ale is the ideal hop bomb: super vibrant, and bursting with aromas of grapefruit, citrus, and tropical fruits,” says Paul Segura, Karl Strauss Brewing Company brewmaster. “It’s got plenty of hops but is also sessionable, so you can enjoy a few.”
When the Mosaic hop first came out in 2012, KARL’s brewers couldn’t wait to experiment with it.

Brewer Sean Albrecht was so inspired that he set out to brew a beer specifically designed to let this new hop variety take center stage. Albrecht brewed the original seven barrel batch at the brewing company’s downtown satellite brewery and it sold out in just a few days.

“At that time, the Mosaic hop was new on the scene and no one was really pushing the boundaries with it yet,” says Albrecht. “As soon as I smelled Mosaic hops, I knew I wanted to brew a single-hop beer that would focus on its bold citrus aromatics.”

Mosaic Session Ale is now available year round on draft, in six packs and 22oz bombers throughout California. For more information on Mosaic Session Ale, visit http://www.karlstrauss.com or their Facebook page. Share it. Cheers.

Stats: 5.5% ABV, 45 IBU, 11 SRM

Back when the Mosaic hop first came on the scene, our brewers couldn’t wait to get their hands on some. Mosaic Session Ale is bursting with vibrant grapefruit aroma and flavors of citrus and tropical fruit. Our signature dry-hopping technique delivers an incredibly drinkable, lower ABV beer; without sacrificing hop appeal. From a small test batch to the beer you now hold in your hands, this isn’t a one-and-done beer. Sit back, have a few, and enjoy your session.
