From Heavy Seas:

BATIMORE, MD --- The “Uncharted Waters” Series by Heavy Seas Beer will soon

welcome its second new beer in 2015, Blackbeard’s Breakfast. This limited release will

be available from May – June in all 18 states where Heavy Seas beer is distributed.

Blackbeard’s Breakfast is a robust porter with a new world twist. Aged in bourbon

barrels and brewed with Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company’s Dark Sumatra coffee,

this porter is flavorful and complex. Featuring unique English malts, this brew will have

strong notes of caramel and a slight nut character. Paired with bourbon notes and the

sumptuous Sumatran Coffee, Blackbeard’s Breakfast will please coffee and beer

connoisseurs alike.

According to Brewmaster, Chris Leonard, “Blackbeard’s Breakfast is probably the

most challenging beer we've ever brewed.  Its starting gravity of 23.5 Plato is higher

than anything we've ever attempted at Heavy Seas.  We used eight different malts,

including 7 from the U.K.  Amber, Black, Chocolate, two types of Crystal, and Vienna

comprise almost 40% of the grain bill.  This beer will possess layers of malt flavor.  At

11% ABV, with earthy, herbaceous English hops, bourbon-barrel aging, and

Chesapeake Bay

Roasting Company's Dark Sumatra coffee, this beer will be complex, mysterious, and

one heck of a delicious brew.”
