Against The Grain - Bo & Luke Coming 9/13

image
From Against The Grain:

It's that time of the year again! Bo & Luke have arrived and we're ready to party!

“Bo & Luke”, as we refer to it, is a collaboration beer first brewed in the summer of 2012 with the Dutch brewmaster of

DeMolen, Menno Oliver. Menno has garnered a reputation for being one of the best brewers in the craft beer world.

Couple his and our expertise for creating big, bold beers, as well as our gumption for creating beers that push the

boundaries of flavor, and you've designed a beer that is worthy of the recognition that “it beats all you ever saw!”

This barrel aged imperial stout boasts a recipe inspired by our most beloved spirit, Kentucky Bourbon. Bo & Luke

employs the constituent ingredients in Bourbon, as well as being conditioned in freshly dumped Kentucky Bourbon

barrels for up to 120 days. The resulting brew is a dark, smokey, and delicious imperial stout that has anyone who tries

it, reeling for more.

open sales ONLINE for pre-sale reservation of the 4 Pack. You can find a link to our webstore on

www.atgbrewery.com on the banner, its marked 'SHOP', or you can go directly to the webstore at this

ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET A PRE-SALE RESERVATION!!! WE WILL NOT TAKE ORDERS FOR PRE-

Dog Tag Brewing Expands Distribution Into PA

image
From Dog Tag:

Dog Tag Brewing is proud to announce three exclusive partnerships in Pennsylvania with Banko Beverage in Allentown, Henry Voelcker Inc. in Danville and Beermart in Reading, all together bringing the beer to 23 counties in the eastern half of the state.

Combat veteran-owned Dog Tag Brewing provides quality brews that deliver a message of gratitude for the selfless sacrifice of our nation’s military. The company currently produces two craft brews, an IPA and a Lager, packaged in 12 oz. cans that are each dedicated to a different fallen U.S. service member. Dog Tag Brewing is the first beer company in North America to utilize a new printing technology offered by Rexam, where numerous designs of the same label can be produced simultaneously on a single pallet. This innovative design technology enables Dog Tag Brewing to tell the story of a different fallen hero on the back of each can, resulting in variety within a single compelling six-pack.

The Keystone State is an important market for Dog Tag Brewing, not only because of its deep sense of patriotism and propensity to welcome new craft beers within its borders, but because Pennsylvania is a state with a proud military heritage and is home to many of our nation’s finest warriors. Two of the fallen heroes currently honored by Dog Tag Brewing hail from the small towns of Jim Thorpe and Shamokin. Sgt. Andrew Baddick and Sgt. Matthew Sandri, both soldiers in the United States Army, laid down their lives for our country during the War on Terror in Iraq in 2003 and 2004. Both of their families will now be able to walk into a store and purchase a six-pack or two of Dog Tag beer and find their warrior’s name and story on select cans.

“We are ecstatic to be in Pennsylvania, one of the most patriotic states in the country. We are thrilled to support the sons of Pennsylvania that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. It is our hope that their fellow citizens will help us in preserving the memory of these fallen warriors” states Seth Jordan, owner and president of Dog Tag Brewing.

Dog Tag’s craft beer is distributed by Banko Beverage in Susquehanna, Wyoming, Wayne, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Carbon, Monroe, Pike, Northampton, Lehigh and Schuylkill counties and by Henry Voelcker Inc. in Tioga, Bradford, Sullivan, Lycoming, Montour, Clinton, Union, Snyder, Northumberland and Columbia counties. Beermart also distributes Dog Tag beer in Berks and Lancaster counties. Visit http://www.dogtagbrewing.com to learn more about their mission and recent news coverage.

Stone To Release “Enjoy After” With 10.31.15 As 1st Edition Brett IPA - Coming 9/26

30 August 2014

image Here’s your breaking beer news of the day…and in a few days you’ll see it elsewhere so check it out here first!  Stone will be launching a new series of beers that are called Enjoy After.  This is the first edition and it will be Enjoy After 10.31.15.  Playing on the success of their Enjoy By series of beers, this series takes the opposite tack and recommends you cellar the IPA until at least the date on the label so it has a chance to develop and mature.  This IPA will be “spiked” at the time of bottling with Brettanomyces wild yeast and the date on the bottle indicates the earliest you should open the beer because that is how long it will take to be fully carbonated.  Stay tuned for release details.
image
image
This beer will hit distribution on 9/26/14 and this from the label text:

What you hold in your hands is an experiment. This IPA is spiked at bottling with Brettanomyces, a wild yeast that, over time, brings about charmingly unpredictable complexities of spice, funk, acidity, and more. The operative words in our beer-cellaring thesis are "over time." For those of you who are impatient or like to experiment, the earliest we recommend sampling this beer is 10.31.14. The beer won’t be fully carbonated until that date. Ideally, you’ll want to cellar the beer up to--or beyond--the Enjoy After date to help it reach its full evolutionary potential. At that point, some facets of the Brett characteristics will have mellowed, while others will have become more profound; it all matures into a fascinating and delicious culmination. Individual results will vary...and that’s both the beauty and the intent behind this beer.

Maui Brewing Co. Named "Official Craft Beer of Hawaiian Airlines"

imageFrom Maui Brewing:

Lahaina, Hawaii  (Aug. 29, 2014) - Maui Brewing Co.'s Bikini Blonde Lager will be offered on international routes on September 1, 2014, and domestic routes to and from the mainland on October 1, 2014 on Hawaiian Airlines.

"As Hawaii's largest craft brewery we're proud to partner with Hawaiian Airlines in having a truly local beer available to passengers.  I am looking forward to enjoying a great beer as I travel to and from the islands," says Garrett Marrero, Founder of Maui Brewing Co.

Bikini Blonde Lager is a filtered Munich Helles Lager brewed with floral hops and Pilsner and Munich malts.  It's a bold Lager, but smooth and refreshing.

Maui Brewing Co. is a craft brewery based in Maui, HI.  As the largest authentic Hawaiian brewery, it currently has one brewery in Lahaina, and one brewpub in Kahana that creates more than 40 different styles on a rotating basis.  In 2005 Maui Brewing Co. produced 400 barrels from the single brewpub and expanded into an additional brewery location in 2007, producing a little over 20,000 barrels in 2013.

MBC has remained consistent in the vision of our motto, "Handcrafted Ales & Lagers Brewed with Aloha".  This means respect for the environment, our community and people, as we strive for enjoyment in every high-quality craft beer brewed.  The beers have been recognized worldwide for quality and innovation.

Maui Brewing Co. is currently in construction on a brewery in Kihei.  This will help meet current demand, and give the ability to open additional markets.  The goal is to be brewing, drinking, and shipping beer from this new brewery by the end of this year.

Bridgeport Brewing Completes Trilogy Anniversary Series With Sessionable Brown Ale

image
From Bridgeport:

The third and final beer in BridgePort’s anniversary series, Trilogy 3 Brewers’ Class, starts shipping this week in all markets where BridgePort is sold.

Designed as a collaboration with students enrolled in the Fermentation Science Program at Oregon State University, Trilogy 3 Brewers’ Class looks to the future of craft brewing in Oregon and nationwide. Conceptualizing the liquid started over three months ago when the students, alongside program director Thomas Shellhammer, joined brewmaster Jeff Edgerton at the brewpub for a beer and some great conversation.

“We weren’t given many parameters, aside from that it needed to be a beer that the students would want to drink,” commented Shellhammer. “Knowing that BridgePort’s end goal was to sell this beer in all of their markets, we also tried to avoid anything too ‘out there’ that wouldn’t scale well.”

After a productive brainstorming session and review of Bridgeport’s current lineup, the Oregon State students dreamt up an easy-to-drink brown ale with a blend of dry hops that lend a unique aroma. Over the following months, there were multiple rounds of test brews at the OSU lab before landing on the final product: a sessionable dry-hopped Brown ale with an ABV below 5-percent.

“We used several classic Willamette and Yakima Valley hop varieties for this one” commented Edgerton. “Centennial, Sterling, Cascade. The unique hop flavors present themselves on the finish of this smooth, mellow beer and blend very well with the delicious flavors from the dark Caramel and Chocolate malt.”

It is now up to BridgePort fans to determine which Trilogy release will return as a year-round beer in 2015. Fans can compare each of the Trilogy beers, all available in the upcoming Voter’s Box Variety Pack, and then cast their vote on Bridgeport Trilogy.com, on Instagram, or on Twitter. The BridgePort Voter’s Box will start to hit shelves in early September.
