From Kannah Creek:

GRAND JUNCTION, CO (December 18, 2014)  Kannah Creek Brewing Company is releasing their first limited edition beer in bomber bottles- Baltallica.  This traditional Baltic Porter is brewed with European hops and specialty malts.  It is fermented and conditioned for three months with a Munich lager yeast strain.  Baltallica pours a rich, dark brown and is one bold beer.   ABV 9%

“For over a decade now I have wanted to brew a higher alcohol lager,” states Kannah Creek Brewing, Matt Simpson.  “This is a time consuming beer to make but it is really gratifying to take the more traditional, longer route.”

When it came time to name this beer, Simpson was searching for a way to tie in the word Baltic and to represent the big bold flavors of this beer.  Naturally he was listening to Metallica’s Ride the Lightening for inspiration.  He thought Metallica is one bold in your face band just like this Baltic Porter. Metallica + Baltic = Baltallica.

There are only 30 cases total of the Baltallica available throughout Colorado.  Here are the liquor stores that will start carrying Baltallica this week: (Grand Junction) Andy’s, College Liquor, Country Club, Fisher’s Liquor Barn, Redlands Liquor, (Western Slope/Mountain) East Valley Liquor, Center Town Liquor, Rocky Mountain Liquors, The Liquor Store, Uncle Sid’s Bottles, Acme Liquors, Star Liquors, (Front Range) Brewers Republic, Corks & Brew Liquors, Captial Heights, DaveCo, Davidson’s, Falcon Liquors, Hazel’s Liquor Mart, Three Rivers, Tipsy’s, Cornerstar Liquor, Morgan’s Liquor.
