Sierra has opened a tasting room inside the brewery just for tours, the latest step in making the site a major beer tourist attraction. Sierra is also planning to open a restaurant and music venue at the brewery, located next to the Asheville Regional Airport about 10 miles from Asheville.
The 90-minute walking tour includes a visit to the brewery, information and video about Sierra Nevada and ends with a “grand tasting of ours beers in the new tasting room inside the brewery,” said company spokesman Bill Manley. Tours are open to visitors age 12 and older, and samples are offered only to guests ages 21 and older, he said. The brewery tasting room is only for those who take the tour.
