As part of our ongoing efforts to celebrate craft brewing inventiveness and creativity, we created a year-long, intra-company brewing competition called the Stone Spotlight Series, wherein we pitted two-person teams from our Brew Crew against each other in a light-hearted yet extremely serious battle to see whose beer recipe reigns supreme. When the steam from the brew kettles cleared, the victorious duo was Team Spröcket—Quality Assurance Supervisor Rick Blankemeier and Production Warehouse Lead Robbie Chandler—with their black rye Kölsch-style ale, Spröcketbier.
As winners of the Stone Spotlight Series, Rick and Robbie not only get to have their beer brewed, packaged and distributed nationally, they also get to go on-tour along with their champion creation and share pints of it with thirsty fans across the nation.
