We brought you a peek at this beer already, and now the official details from Ithaca:

It’s been awhile, too long in fact. Most Ithaca Beer fans and sour ale seekers will concur. At last the wait is over. We are more than excited to announce the very limited release (less than 100 cases) of a new wild ale at the brewery on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 called Luminous Golden Wild Ale.””

Luminous will only be available for sale at the brewery with a two bottle purchase limit per customer. “When we are only able to produce a small amount of a rare one-off beer, it’s impossible to have enough to go around,” says brewery Founder, Dan Mitchell. “By putting a limit on this release, most people who show up on April 16th can expect to go home with some.” The Taproom opens on April 16th at noon.

Luminous is a golden wild ale brewed with wheat and aged NYS hops. Fermented for over a year, this ale is a delightful meditation on uninhibited life; a celebration of esoteric flavors. Enjoy the simple, yet intriguing pineapple, cherry, mango, and hay aroma complemented by a bucolic funk. All cushioned by a dazzling effervescence and a light tartness, a truly wild ale reminiscent of the pastoral landscapes surrounding the Finger Lakes. ABV %6.0.

Luminous is a part of the Excelsior! Series, an elevated line of craft beers brewed by Ithaca Beer in very limited quantities. Most beers in this line are bottled-conditioned and can be cellared indefinitely. Other brands in the Excelsior! Series include White Gold Rustic Wheat Ale, Le Bleu Blueberry Sour Ale and Anniversary.
