Shmaltz Brewing–Barrel Aged Release # 5 Genesis 15:15

28 August 2011

From our friends at Shmaltz Brewing, today we have their Barrel Aged Series # 5, Genesis 15:15 (15th Anniversary Ale) brewed with pomegranate juice, fig juice, date & grape juice, aged in rye whiskey barrels.  This new brew comes out of Relata brewing in Saratoga Springs NY and it will be packaged in 22oz bottles.  Genesis 15:15 is a Barrel-aged Harvest barleywine Ale and it marches through the door at 13.4% ABV.  Look for only 791 cases to be produced with a bottling date on Sept 7 2011.  This new beer will use 8 malts, 7 hops and will be aged in 6-year old rye whiskey barrels.  “Genesis Chapter 1 promises many battles but also sacred covenants.  Verse 15: ‘You, Abraham shall be gathered into the arms of your people at a ripe old age.’  To the torrents & the trials, the punchlines & the pleasures.  To 15 years of Shmaltz Life—and beyond – L’Chaim!”
