Purple Healer Brewing Co - Another New Nano-Brewery Heading to NEPA

imageYesterday we brought you news of not one, not two, but three new breweries heading into PA…so I’m really excited to bring you a Fourth!

I’ve been speaking with Larry DeGreen, from Bloomsburg who tells me he’s working on the paperwork to open a new brewery called Purple Healer Brewing Co in Bloomsburg.  Larry/Purple Healer will be one of the brewers at the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble Taming of the Brew event on Aril 9th.  Larry is currently brewing from home and looking for roughly 1000 sq ft in Bloomsburg to start up the brewery.  Larry is currently brewing a German-style Dopplebock, a Pilsner, an Irish Red an IPA and several different Amber Ales.

Larry also tells me they use the spent grains to make dog treats called puppy hops beer biscuits that are currently selling very well.

Very exciting beer news for everyone…so stay tuned for further details as Larry porgresses.

  1. I work with Larry. He's a great guy whos incredibly enthusiastic about beer. The buzz around town is that his Dopplebock is to die for although I haven't the opportunity to try it YET. He's been stockpiling his beer for the "Taming of the Brew" beer tasting here in Bloomsburg (sorry, it sold out in less than 15 minutes by people hoping to get a taste of Larry's beer!) Let's all wish Larry the best of luck!
