Madison’s Oktoberfest – Nanticoke Sept 25-26

MARTINI 01 I’ve just heard that Madisons (396 E Washington St, Nanticoke) will be holding their first Oktoberfest celebration next weekend (Fri 9/25 and Sat 9/26).  Their menu and details can be found HERE.  I understand they’ll be having quite a few different bottled Oktoberfest beers such as Leinenkugel’s , Dundee, Jack’s Pumpkin Spice, Stegmaier & Sam Adams…and possibly more…and some great traditional Oktoberfest foods (in addition to their regular menu).  Hope to see you there!

  1. Awesome - Madison's is the local bar/restaurant for me. The food is always great, and the service friendly and quick. They've been stocking some interesting stuff of late - right now it's a line up of Saranac, as well as Yards IPA and Pale Ale, and Victory's Witbier. Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy, along with Yuengling Lager are among the tap handles. I plan on being their both days to be able to sample everything. Hope to see you there!

  2. Oktoberfests are cool, but I have to say that that list is somewhat uninspiring.

  3. To be fair Madison's is not know as or pretending to be a beer-bar....but I do think their efforts are worth our attention, and perhaps down the road with our support they will become more of a beer bar.

  4. As mbb pointed out, they're kind of venturing into new waters here with this Oktoberfest, so I see it as a gesture. If we as a beer loving crowd show some love, I think it would encourage them to show some back. As it is, I'm very much looking forward to the good food, beer and company, as that, to me, is what Oktoberfest is all about - not tasting glasses and chalices in my opinion. By the way, if you've not had the Steg O'fest this year? you're missing out - it's really good.

  5. I think this is a good thing. So what if they're not a beer bar right now. Not every beer bar starts out with a cooler full of beers. I think its a nice thing they are doing and we should support them. Who knows they may add more and more beers later on and as stingo said Octoberfest is about having fun with friends. I'll stop by.
