Chip the Beer Guy Rock 107 - Germany

I know what you’re saying, “Two CBG posts in one week?”  Well when Chip is in Germany for Oktoberfest with Guy Hagner, I think it merit’s a 2nd post.  Because the daily phone calls this week were brief, Chip used today’s segment for a summary show:

ChipGuyAnniversaryBlock

  • Chip & the crew have toured several breweries, Paulaner, Augustiner, Weihenstephaner, Andechs as well as many local pubs.
  • Chip actually witnessed a young fraulein fall on a table while he was on the air.
  • Because they are hitting the non-tourist pubs, only German is spoken in most and Guy is apparently their German translator.
  • Chip likes their “organ meats.”  Now he’s talking about liver, and all sorts of other glands & meaty stuff.  This is not news….however after the “John likes taking it in the can” comment from a few weeks back, I’m amazed John let that one get by without a long-distance zing.
  • Chip & the crew are heading for Bamberg tomorrow after watching the Oktoberfest parade (Yes the real Oktoberfest begins tomorrow.)
  • Germans typically drink a Helles-style lager or Dunkel for Oktoberfest and NOT the traditional Marzen-style beers we in the US consider to be Oktoberfest beers.
  • Chip will be back on the radio Monday live from their Oktoberfest session under the tents.

Be sure to tune into Rock 107 Monday morning for the live Oktoberfest show….AND be sure to check out the rock107.com podcasts from this week’s CBG shows.
