MBAA @ Lion Brewery Part # 3

18 November 2008

Here's another great shot of the Lion Brewery tasting room during the MBAA meeting. If you lock in on the Liebotschaner sticker on the tap tower, you'll miss Tom Kehoe (Yards), Leo Orlandini (Lion) and Bob Klinetob (Lion) behind the bar....among others.

Is that lieb sticker an old one or an early version of what the new label/marketing will look like?

I knew someone would ask (and suspected it would be you Lee) so while I was there I did a little reasearch. As with just about everything in the tap room, it's original (not new). Now that doesn't mean they won't base the new design on some old styling cues so we'll see.

Thanks. Yeah, your bait was eagerly swallowed.

It is sharp, but nothing beats the last label with the pilsner glass. So retro looking but authentic at the same time. I suspect that new fancy PR firm will come up with something much more modern and replicative though, and justifying the money they are being paid.

I know there is "marketing" involvement...I suspect it's an outside firm doing it also. We'll see...retro is "in" isn;t it??
