Sad Day for the Local Beer Scene...

I am sad to report that Jay Misson, head brewer for Triumph Brewing died suddenly today. Jay has a rich brewing history in the Pennsylvania/New Jersey area and his brewing skills go way back so some of the very early craft brews in our area. I'll leave the further story to Lew Bryson (Click HERE), but years ago I remember running into Jay in New Hope at Triumph Brewing. He sat quietly at the bar near us as we talked about beers to the bartender. Finally he introduced himself and was kind (and excited) enough to pull a theif of a new Rye Ale so my wife and I could have a taste. Great beers and great guy....

  1. Sorry to hear that. I was at Triumph in Philadelphia on May 3rd. Good beers, and a good atmosphere. They said the brewer was giving a tour around the time I got there, but I had a dinner reservation elsewhere with friends, otherwise I'd've gone.
