NEPA Beer Club

As I sit down to write this note, I'm staring at a white cardboard box with all sorts of colorful bottle caps peeking out at me from the darkness of the box. I've just returned home from the NEPA Beer Club and this box is my own little surprise beer extravaganza.

For those that don't know, the NEPA Beer club started about 16 months ago and the members meet monthly to; well you guessed it...split beer. Beer styles are agreed upon and and each member buys a case of beer for the split, and each member goes home with a wonderful mixed case of beer. IPA, Bocks, Wheats, Belgian big name it, they've split it. You can opt in or out any month and the variety of beers is wonderful.

This month the club decided to pool their money, and two of our members (Thanks Kevin & Lindo) traveled to Stockertown beverage for a surprise beer split. So how's this for a surprise selection: Tommyknocker TundraBeary, Breckenridge Extra ESB 471 Small Batch, Brasserie Dieu Du Ciele Derniere Volonte, Founders Red Rye, Lakefront Organic ESB, Atwater Block Dirty Blonde, Southampton IPA, Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza, Mikkeller It's Alive, Norrebro Bryghus North Bridge Extreme, Olfabrikken 100 Gram IPA, Fantome Saison, Cuvee de Rank...and yes a Bananatana. Incredible selection of beers!

We're always looking for new members so PLEASE join us. Great beers, great variety, good people...what more could you ask for. Membership is open...participate in the split when you want, don't participate when you don't want. This is a great group of people and they travel from all over PA to participate. If you're interested (and why wouldn't any beer lover be interested) can Click HERE to go the NEPA Beer Club Blog. Check out the previous beers splits and drop Josh or Kevin an e-Mail to join us. Are YOU in?

  1. Wow....good stuff...I'll check their site and see about joining. Thanks

  2. Does it cost $$$ to join and do I have to buy beer every month?

  3. Nope it's free other than the cost of the beer you contribute and yes you can particiapte or not participate any month as you choose. This was a big selling point for me. Once I realized I didn't have to participate every month, I joined.
